Documentary on FEDELINA, the slave for a Fil-Am family in California to premier on October 25

As a person who hates the ill effects of trafficking and one who advocates for the rights of the Filipino workers, I am elated to know that the story of Nanay Fedelina will be shown this October 25, 2020.

From Ging Reyes, ABS-CBN News Chief, Ging says, "This is a story of how much pain and abuse one human being can inflict on another. But also, of resilience, forgiveness and redemption.

Our teams began working on this documentary 2 years ago. NA Bureau’s Steve Angeles and Jeremiah Ysip covered the story of Nanay Fedelina, a Filipina who worked as a slave for a Fil-Am family in California for 65 years! She was rescued by the FBI in 2018; the Pilipino Workers Center helped her with housing and medical care.

Early this year, our News DocuCentral team traveled to the US with Nanay Fedelina’s relatives from the Philippines to witness their much-awaited reunion, and to find out more about Nanay Fedelina’s incredible life and her path to freedom. Our work was hobbled by COVID19 and our network’s shutdown. But we were undaunted because hers is a story that must be told, no matter what.

“Fedelina A Stolen Life” will touch your hearts and stay with you for a long time. "
